Born in 1990, Abhishek Sanjay Joshi is a contemporary Indian painter, draftsman, and printmaker whose practice combines academic rigor with deep internal intuition. He completed his M.F.A. in Painting from Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Fine Arts, Pune, in 2014, consistently achieving First Class distinction throughout his academic training.

Grounded in refined draftsmanship, Joshi views painting as a medium for exploring the conscious and unconscious mind rather than direct optical replication. Developing his compositions from raw inner responses rather than rigid personal beliefs, his works translate subtle emotional and mental states into structured, contemplative visual forms across painting, drawing, and printmaking.

Over his career, Joshi has earned numerous accolades, including the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Bronze Award (2016) and the Finext National Award for Mini-Artwork (Bhopal, 2018). His technical excellence is further demonstrated by over a decade of repeated selections for the prestigious Maharashtra State Art Exhibition in the professional Artist Category (2010–2024).

Joshi’s work has been showcased at premier national institutions, including group exhibitions at the Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai, 2025), The Bombay Art Society, The Art Society of India, Art Gate Gallery, and the Nehru Centre. Beyond his studio practice, he actively contributes to the art community as an educator and master demonstrator across Maharashtra.
