Anupam Pal
Anupam Pal (b. October 11, 1991) is a contemporary Indian artist based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, whose practice bridges traditional cultural iconography with a modern expressive vocabulary. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, he has developed a signature figurative style characterized by elongated forms, expressive gestures, and rich color harmonies.
Formally trained with a Six-Year Diploma in Fine Arts from Tagore School of Arts and studies in Visual Effects at MAAC Kolkata, Pal draws inspiration from Indian mythology, classical music, spirituality, and human emotion. His paintings frequently incorporate symbolic motifs such as musicians, serene feminine figures, peacocks, Krishna, and Buddha to explore themes of devotion, harmony, and resilience.
Since launching his professional career in 2008, Pal has presented his work in solo shows including The Journey of Dreams (Off The Wall Gallery, Jamshedpur) and Inarticulate (Shilpangan Kala Niketan, Asansol). He has also participated in major group exhibitions at prestigious institutions such as the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, the Birla Academy of Art & Culture in Kolkata, and the Lalit Kala Akademi. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections across India.
