Pravat Manna
Pravat Manna
Rooted in his studio in Hooghly, West Bengal, Pravat Kumar Manna is a contemporary Indian painter with over two decades of dedicated studio practice. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (2008), developing a distinctive artistic voice that bridges Indian visual culture with modern conceptual art.
Manna’s work centers on symbolic figuration, translating complex themes of spirituality, mythology, and human endurance into contemplative visual narratives. Utilizing recurring motifs—such as lions, turtles, and fragmented forms—his layered acrylic and watercolor compositions serve as meditative reflections on resilience and the cycles of life.
His career is marked by major national recognitions, including his selection for the prestigious 65th National Exhibition of Art by Lalit Kala Akademi and a Certificate of Merit from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata.
Manna has exhibited across India’s most esteemed venues, with showcases at the Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi), Birla Academy of Art & Culture, and multiple solo shows at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. Widely featured in national media like The Times of India and The Statesman, his works are held in private collections across the country.
