Rahul Mhetre

Rahul Mhetre is an accomplished contemporary Indian artist whose practice is deeply rooted
in the rich visual traditions of Indian art. Born in 1974, Mhetre completed his formal artistic
training with a Diploma in Art Education and a G.D. Art in Fine Art from Abhinav Kala
Mahavidyalaya, Pune, building upon his foundational Art Teacher Diploma from Solapur.
His distinctive works are characterized by fluid line work, dynamic color palettes, and rich
textural layers that capture the living dialogue between rural heritage and modern urban life
across India.

Mhetre’s narrative compositions explore a wide spectrum of themes, ranging from the
emotional depth of human relationships and the nostalgic charm of village life to the
symbolic resonance of floral motifs and the untamed joy of childhood. Through these
evocative subjects, he aims to celebrate the cultural vibrancy and enduring spirit of his
homeland.

With a career spanning over two decades, Mhetre has exhibited extensively across major art
centers in India and internationally. His portfolio includes solo exhibitions at prestigious
venues such as the Jehangir Art Gallery, Nehru Centre, and Gallery Pradarshak in Mumbai.

He has also participated in numerous curated group shows, national art camps, auctions, and
international platforms, including exhibitions in Germany and major showcases at Bikaner
House in New Delhi and Art Houz in Bengaluru. His artistic contributions have been featured
in several charity initiatives, art workshops, and cultural camps sponsored by prominent
national foundations.
