Born on May 26, 1990, in Sarangpur, Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, Rohit Joshi developed an early passion for the visual arts that led him to formal study. He completed his postgraduate degree in Fine Arts at the Government Lalit Kala Sansthan, Indore, in 2018. His academic and creative output earned him early recognition, including the Meera Kala Samman Gold Medal in 2018 and the prestigious Jagdish Swaminathan State Award from the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2021.

His thematic explorations of mythology, form, and color are central to his solo exhibitions. In 2023, he held his solo show "पौराणिक" (Poranik), sponsored by Marma Kala Anushthan in Indore. He followed this in 2025 with "रंग-मिथक" (Rang-Mithak) at the Kalakaksha Art Gallery, Indore.

Rohit Joshi’s work has also gained broad national and international exposure through group exhibitions in New York, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Gurugram, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, and Gwalior.

An active participant in artistic exchanges, he has joined several notable art camps and workshops. These include "Yuva 8 Sarjana Ka Hriday Pradesh" at Bharat Bhavan Bhopal, the NGMA "Jai Hind Art Workshop" in Jabalpur, the Raza Foundation National Art Camp in Mandla, the National Tribal Art Camp in Gwalior, and the Prakatan Art Camp in Indore. He has also showcased his work at art festivals such as Artfest and Art Mall in New Delhi.
